Job Description:
Job Description Overview: Performs CT scans as well as
procedures in a fast-paced inpatient and outpatient setting.
Technologist places IVs, performs study post processing and
utilizes an EMR for exam tracking. Performs a variety of CT and
radiographic procedures for diagnosis and treatment requiring
independent judgement, ingenuity, and initiative. Provides basic ER
and Inpatient bedside care and assistance under the direct
supervision of the Radiology Manager, physician or RN. The CT Tech
must be able to function autonomously utilizing medical protocols
and advanced skills under the direction of the hospital medical
director . The CT tech must be effective with communication,
clinical skills, and able to work positively in a high stress
environment with patients, peers, families and other internal /
external personnel. The CT tech is responsible for carrying out the
mission and goals of UF Health ONH and UF Health Shands, assuring
that safety remains the highest priority throughout the patients
care. In addition to providing diagnostic X-ray and CT images,
other duties will be assigned within the scope and licensure of the

programs Qualifications: Minimum Education and Experience
Requirements: Satisfactory completion of Radiologic Technology
training in a CAHEA approved school and meets requirements for the
registry by the ARRT. Prefer at least one years of experience as a
radiologic technologist. Motor Vehicle Operator Designation:
Employees in this position: Will not operate vehicles for an
assigned business purpose NOTE: A frequent driver is defined as one
who uses his/her personal or Shands automobile a) at least once
daily, b) at least five individual trips per week or c) drives, on
average, over 150 miles per week in the performance of his/her job.
Licensure/Certification/Registration: Must be registered by the
ARRT. Must hold a current license from the State of Florida as a
certified Radiologic Technologist. Must pass the ARRT advanced
examination for CT certification within one year of employment as a
CT Technologist. Must have current BLS certification.
