\n\n \n The role you'll contribute: \n \n\n \n The Advanced
Registered Nurse Practitioner functions as a member of the medical
care management team for physician practice patients (surgical).
The ARNP may diagnose medical conditions, plan and implement
treatment collaboratively agreed to in the Florida Hospital
Physician Group medical staff delineation of clinical privileges
for Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners. Depending on the
practice, ARNP may be required to work and/or be on call on
weekends. \n \n\n \n The value you'll bring to the team: \n \n\n \n
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES : \n \n\n \n · Provide
services similar to those of a physician. \n \n\n \n · Examine
patients, take medical histories, maintain patient records,
identify health risk factors, prescribe medications, make referrals
and otherwise treat health conditions. \n \n\n \n · Sees patients
both in the hospital setting and practice setting. \n \n\n \n ·
Depending on surgical specialty, may work with assigned
physician(s) in endoscopy or OR \n \n\n \n · Assists with in-office
procedures with physician and or may perform minor procedures
independently. \n \n\n \n · Communicates with courtesy when
interacting with internal or external patients and customers—in
person or on the telephone. \n \n\n \n · Exhibits respect for
co-workers and develops positive working relationships within the
practice and other departments. \n \n\n \n · Demonstrate Florida

with patients and their families, and with the medical staff. \n
\n\n \n · Assess patient health by interviewing patients,
performing physical examinations and identifying any medical
conditions. \n \n\n \n · Obtaining, updating, and studying medical
histories of patients. \n \n\n \n · Determines abnormalities by
administering and/or ordering diagnostic tests, such as x-rays,
electrocardiograms, and laboratory studies. \n \n\n \n ·
Interpreting test results of patients. \n \n\n \n · Able to provide
pre and post-operative care, if applicable. This would apply if PA
is located in a surgical practice. \n \n\n \n · Perform therapeutic
procedures by administering injections and immunizations, suturing,
and managing wounds and infections. \n \n\n \n · Instructs and
counsels patients. \n \n\n \n · Document patient care services by
charting in the patient and department records. \n \n\n \n ·
Provides continuity of care by developing and implementing patient
management plans. \n \n\n \n · Focus on patient wellness and
disease prevention. \n \n\n \n · Provide health education services
and/or counsel patients on how to make healthy lifestyle choices.
\n \n\n \n · Will need to work weekdays, occasional weekends and
nights for call coverage. \n \n\n \n · Maintains a safe and clean
working environment by complying with policies, procedures, rules,
and regulations. \n \n\n \n · Proactively support a culture of
safety and quality to protect our patients and employees. \n \n\n
\n · Honor's patient's rights by following privacy guidelines,
HIPAA, and code of ethics with our patients, physicians,
co-workers, and guests. \n \n\n \n · Complies with federal, state,
and local legal and professional requirements by studying existing
and new legislation. \n \n\n \n · Demonstrates commitment to
professional and personal growth, i.e. completes all mandatory
educational requirements, maintains certifications, attend
continuing education courses/seminars, and acts as designated
preceptor. \n \n\n \n · Contributes to a physician's effectiveness
by being part of the team, identifying short-term and long-range
patient care issues that must be addressed; and help develop the
staff by providing information, educational opportunities and
growth opportunities. \n \n\n \n · May attend hospital conferences
specific to the specialty they are supporting such as GI
conference, Tumor Board conference, and clinical trials. \n \n\n \n
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED : \n \n\n \n · Risk Management:
understand method and reasoning for reporting incidents, completion
of hospital incident report form, assists department manager or
others in recognizing and reducing risk within the department and
other areas of the hospital. \n \n\n \n · Service Management:
Demonstrates courteous service, and ability to meet special needs
or requests, performs duties and a timely manner and provides
updates if a delay occurs, communicates with courtesy when
interacting with internal and external patients, in person or by
telephone. Respects patient's privacy, confidentiality and dignity.
\n \n\n \n · Understands and Complies with the Environment of
Care/Infection Control Responsibilities. \n \n\n \n · Is
Knowledgeable and Complies with the States Institutional Activities
and Expectations. \n \n\n \n · Age Specific Standards. \n \n\n \n ·
Provides and Expedites Patient Care in Units and ICUs: performs
H&P's and dictates into chart, writes admitting/progress notes
into patient chart, writes discharge summaries and orders as
directed by supervising physician, initiates standing orders for
patients both pre/post op, performs pre-operative visits and follow
up exams, completes specific procedures under the direction of the
physicians including, but not limited to removal of chest tubes an
NG tubes and wound care, and provides system management of Surgical
practice patients as per medical staff privilege delineation. \n
\n\n \n · Provides Direct Patient Care in Floors and Units. \n \n\n
\n · Assists physicians with coordination of clinical activities
and orders. \n \n\n \n Qualifications \n \n The expertise and
experiences you'll need to succeed: \n \n\n \n EDUCATION AND
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: \n \n\n \n · MSN (Master's of Nursing) \n \n\n
\n · One years' experience \n \n\n \n · Valid American Heart
Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification \n \n\n \n
· Provides direct care with licensing credentials under the
auspices of supervising MD. \n \n\n \n LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR
REGISTRATION REQUIRED: \n \n\n \n · Valid American Heart
Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification \n \n\n \n
· Licensure as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner in the
State of Florida. \n \n\n \n · Advanced Registered Nurse
Certification \n \n\n \n · Continuing education required to
